Founded in the early 90s as a fun team for rowers, todays Hornfelsedrache are real paddlers and fast.
We compete in regional and national championships on both sides of the EU border. Our team draws on a squad of about 40 men and women, representing all ages and performance-levels. Rookie and veteran, craftsman and chief surgeon, teenager and pensioner: together we form one of Germanys few real home-grown club teams.
"Drache" is German for dragon, and many dragons have horns. But our "Hornfelse" is a cliff overlooking the town of Grenzach-Wyhlen. It shelters our river, produces a fine red wine, and inspires all sorts of interesting boat names...
Tasted blood? Then join us in our training sessions!
